State of mind.

This is what I want my day to be like:

Comme toujours…

I love stumbling upon new artists and discovering their work. Today’s find in French Michael Levy, who catapulted me to Paris in just one click:

Paris, Hotel Le Brun (promenades architecturales series)

Paris, Palais Bourbon (Promenades architecturales series.)

He also won me over with his beautiful pictures of Iceland, which you can admire here. Now if only [...]

Izis it is.

Internazionale teaches me things I didn’t know I needed to know. Like how well Izis’ images complement Irene Nemirovsky’s words, for example.

Il Carnevale di Nizza (1956)

Le rive della Senna, Petit Pont (1949)

Jardin de Tuileries (1950)

Saturday

In the theme of things that rock, Saturday was also quite stellar.
I saw the Gerturdes and Bruce Peninsula in the unlikeliest venue ever and got to spend time with a dear friend. The result was memorable and the whole night reminded me precisely of why I love this city so much. I only wish I [...]

Aside.

Well, well. Looks like the fine lady over at Notebook Doodles and I are not that different after all.

With all the crushes  and objects of affection I keep gushing on and on about, perhaps it’s time I made my own little booklet. Noelle probably knows more about my crushses than me, though. Does that count?

The good kind of heartache.

Oh I simply had to drop everything I was doing- the simultaneous emails, the chats, the cyber-pings, the planning- to contemplate the absolutely incredible nature of Andrew Bird’s musicianship. There’s something about his ability to craft a song that always causes me to stop, sigh, and get lost in my own thoughts no matter where, [...]
